The Bhutanese Bladetooth is a four-legged creature, the size of a big dog, with a distinctive pattern of stripes and spots on its back to identify it. It eats primarily underbrush, with the occasional insect.

Besides its teeth to chew vegetation, it has a retractable set of long sharp teeth which it only uses for particularly sturdy plants and defending itself. A common misconception is that the long teeth look like daggerblades. They are curved and triangular. The name orginates from the sound the teeth make as they pop up, which is like blades being drawn according to the Indian warlock that first described it.

Julius Sulpice sets free a Bhutanese Bladetooth in fourth year to make sure his Care of Magical Creatures lesson is cut short and he can meet in secret with Scarlet Irisa.
